Belt drying kiln for sawdust and woodchips – type LTD

The most important part is a permeable drying belt (4) on the conveyor belt, whereon drying layer thickness from 10 to 15 cm is made using a pair of metering screw conveyors (1). Dried material must be free of larger pieces of wood or metal parts, which could cause mechanical damage to the belt. Dried layer on the conveyor belt moves slowly, using a motor with a gearbox to drive the cylinder (8) at the end of the conveyor belt.
Drying belt is breathable plastic spiral sieve made of PES and moving along the supporting rollers and the outer guide rails. Below the belt a sealing bath is, made of stainless steel (9) in which is generated by one or two fans (3) depression of about 1000 Pa. External air is sucked through a heated radiators (2) of heating system, located in the superstructure above the belt at 50 - 70 °C according to the temperature and the amount of dried material. Warm air passes through the dried material, which warms up and begins to evaporate water from it. Humid air is sucked under the belt of the bath fan (or fans) to the surroundings. Sealing bath is equipped with inspection doors (7) for control of parts of drier and their possible repair.
Drying belt holes are clogged during operation with small material particles, which is first removed by dry using a mechanical rotary brush (4) and occasionally scraping by pressure stream of water (6).
Dry material is at the end of the conveyor belt moved primarily to a screw conveyor (5) and from here into the container for sawdust and wood chips.
Fully automated control system regulates the speed of conveyor belt, metering screw conveyors including speed control of fans using frequency convertors. Desired output moisture is measured continuously by material damp meter which conveyor speed and material dosage is adapted to. The control system reads the data for the control of drying temperature, measuring the amount of heat and electricity consumption
