Hightemperature chambers KATRES are designed for wood heat treatment temperatures from 170 to 230 ºC.
Result from short but very technologicaly hard drying process, which change physical and mechanical characteristics of wood, is fine material specific by its enhanced resistivity against climatic influences and wood-destroying agent and characteristic by colour changes into dark brown tones. High temperature chambers are, in regard of high temperatures using in atmosphere and for reasons of resistance against wood acids, made from stainless steel with hermetically closed inside space during heat treatment process. The best quality is quaranteed by heavy – duty fans together with efficient fan motors placed outside of the kiln. Heating sources are gas/oil burners, hot oil fluid or option with electric power. The whole heat treatment process is controlled completely by the automatic regulation system. High temperature chambers are supplied with rail trucks – wagons for treated material with capacity from 5 to 90 m3 in one load. Key features of high temperature chambers
Properties and fields of application of hightemperature treated woodBy thermally modifying the timber many properties can be improved permanently, in particular biological durability, dimensional stability, acoustics, and as well reduced equilibrium moisture content and more. Properties of hightemperature drying chambers Thermally modified timber is an alternative to impregnated wood. Improvements make wood an appropriate material in much more applications than untreated wood for uses involving demanding weather conditions and for interior decoration. Using of hightemperature treated wood It is environmentally friendly and a natural choice because only heat and steam are used in the manufacturing process – no chemicals or other additional constituents are applied.
