Construction of drying kilns

Bearing structure of drying kilns

All bearing parts, beams, roof holding structure and trusses are made of first class aluminium profiles, stainless steel design on demand.

Our priority is high protection of construction lifetime and against snow load. The whole structure is self-supporting type fastened with stainless steel anchors to the baseplate. This ensures an easy assembly, and eventual disassembly, of the whole chamber (the possibility of re-allocation).

Drying kiln wall system

The drying kiln wall system is made of insulated aluminium panels. The external surface is formed by an mechanically resistant aluminum sheets thickness 1–2 mm. Thanks to the horizontal design, settling of insulation does not occur inside of the cassettes, and thus no possible worsening of heat and sound insulation properties. The grip of the cassettes to the structure ensures heat dilatation and stability of the entire system. To achieve perfect tightness, the joints between individual cassettes are packed using silicon with resistance against high temperatures.

External wall of the drier is formed by surface embossed aluminium metal-sheets of a trapezoidal profile (called „KOB“), thickness 0.7 mm

The drying kiln wall system is insulated with non-hygroscopic fiberglass for specific application for drying kilns walls. The insulation is supplied in standard thicknesses 100, 120 and 140 mm, depending on external climatic conditions at the place of the drier installation.

Thermal constant of wall permeability is 0,3 W.m-1.K-1.

False ceiling of drying kilns

The false ceiling is realized with aluminum trapeziodal sheets and it divides the kiln in two section:

  • drying section where the lumber is being dried and where are measuring elements of atmosphere and timber moisture.
  • technological section with the fans, heating units, humidification spray line system and the air deflectors

Drying kiln doors and lifting device

Doors are designed of special door sturdy profile with seating sealing fixed on the whole door frame circumference.

Possibility to choose lifting device from among manual, hydraulic or electric design.

Several types of loading door opening are available:

Inspection door for drying kilns

The inspection door serves for easy access to the drier in the course of its operation, and it is located in the back wall of the drier as a standard. The door can also be placed in one of the side walls of the drier or as part of the main charging gate.

The inspection door is manufactured in the dimensions 600 x 1800 mm, with insulation of the thickness 100 mm.

Further advantages of the door include the following:

  • Two-way opening
  • Only one closing/open mechanism
  • Whole-circumference sealing
